D23′s From the Archives: The Disney Catalog Holiday Issues

12.13.12 – As holiday shoppers pick up their final gifts, D23: The Official Disney Fan Club and the Walt Disney Archives take a look back at some old holiday issues of The Disney Catalog.

Compared to the mail-order days of Christmases yore, today’s holiday shopping is a breeze. You can easily hop onto the Internet and have your entire shopping list completed in just a few minutes.

DisneyStore.com, the now-evolved version of the original mail-order service The Disney Catalog, has come a long way in helping Disney fans find just the right gifts. They have thousands of items, from park and theatrical merchandise, to collectibles, plush, clothing, and more. But it’s still fun to look back at the way we used to do our holiday gift gathering by mail order. The Disney Catalog began in 1984 as the Disney Family Gift Catalog and, later, the name was shortened. Eventually, The Disney Catalog was discontinued and the Disney shopping experience went online.

Enjoy these selections—and funky styles—from The Disney Catalog from Christmases past!
