Taken from the publicity materials from Treasure Planet‘s 2002 theatrical release, this cast list shows the talent headshots along with the animated Disney characters each actor voices in the film. With a futuristic and modern take on Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island, the film called for a stellar line-up of actors. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, known for his role as Tommy Solomon on television’s 3rd Rock From the Sun, plays Jim Hawkins. Fresh off of 1997′s Alien: Resurrection, Michael Wincott serves as the extraterrestrial villain Scroop. And Martin Short as B.E.N., short for Bio-Electrical Navigator, had recently starred in Mars Attacks!, produced and directed by Tim Burton. In addition to the out-of-this-world cast, Treasure Planet also marked the first animated feature where the backgrounds were all painted through computer graphics.
