On Sunday, October 21, 2012, more than 60 D23 Members gathered upstairs at Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen in Downtown Disney Anaheim for our first-ever D23 Builds a (Haunted) House event, where traditional gingerbread houses receive ghoulish makeovers! Many members got into the “spirit,” bringing bags—and even large boxes!—of their own candy and holiday decor to add a boo-tiful touch to their creations.
In addition to candy snacks and beverages provided by the Jazz Kitchen, D23 Members and their guests received a reproduction of the Valley Progress magazine from 1939 celebrating the arrival of the Walt Disney Studio Lot in Burbank, as well as special Frankenweenie collectors cards and Wreck-It Ralph temporary tattoos courtesy of our friends at The Walt Disney Studios.
Each house was a sweet success—as you can see in the photos below—and we look forward to building traditional holiday gingerbread houses this December at the Jazz Kitchen. We’ll announce details soon here on D23.com and through our Facebook and Twitter accounts (@DisneyD23) and in the D23 FanFare.
