Taking in an estimated $66.3 million, Disney•Pixar’s Brave hit the bulls-eye at the domestic box office this weekend, opening No. 1 to maintain Pixar’s streak of 13 for 13 No. 1 wide-release debuts. Brave marks the second highest June opening for an animated film in industry history and the second highest June opening in Disney history (behind Toy Story 3). Audiences gave the film an “A” CinemaScore.
The film also opened in 10 international markets, including China, Russia and Australia, and its global total is an estimated $80.4 million.
