Lab Rats Premieres Tonight on Disney XD

02.27.12 – Disney XD’s new live-action comedy series follows 14-year-old Leo and his newfound “siblings,” a trio of superhuman teens, who together learn to navigate a typical high school with not-so-typical bionic glitches.

Catch the premiere of Lab Rats on Disney XD tonight at 8:30 p.m., ET/PT.

In the live-action comedy series Lab Rats, 14-year-old Leo is sent plummeting into a secret underground lab in the basement of the home he shares with his inventor stepdad, Donald Davenport; his mom, Tasha; and Eddy, the “smart house” computer, where he discovers three teen superhumans: Adam, Bree, and Chase. The bionic trio is anxious to leave the confines of the lab and experience life in the real world. Fortunately for them, Leo agrees to take them to school, and an unlikely friendship develops as Adam, Bree, and Chase get their first taste of freedom while they inadvertently help Leo elevate his social status at school.

When Davenport finds out that his lab rats have retreated to Leo’s school, he isn’t too happy, as he fears they could cause damage by misusing the powers they haven’t yet mastered. Adam, the oldest lab rat, has super strength and heat and laser vision; Bree has super speed, can jump high, repel off walls, and defuse any situation quickly; and Chase, the youngest but the smartest, has unlimited intelligence capacity and the ability to create a force field.

Although Davenport seeks to push the boundaries of technology, he falls into a fatherly role realizing that he must first be a role model and mentor to Leo, Adam, Bree, and Chase. Tasha also quickly comes to think of the lab rats as her own kids, and Leo sees them as the siblings he’s never had.

With Leo’s help and advice, Adam, Bree, and Chase try and navigate a “normal” world of high school, friends, and family while trying to keep their powers a secret. However, occasional bionic glitches occur, causing comical chaos along the way.

Starring are Billy Unger (You Again) as Chase, Spencer Boldman (I’m in the Band) as Adam, Kelli Berglund (Hip Hop Harry) as Bree, with Tyrel Jackson Williams (Failure to Launch, Pair of Kings) as Leo and Hal Sparks (E!’s Talk Soup) as Davenport. Recurring are Angel Parker (Hannah Montana) as Tasha and Will Forte (Saturday Night Live) as the voice of Eddy.
