A robust calendar for Disney Reads is planned, featuring contests and giveaways, quizzes, and polls.
Disney Publishing Worldwide (DPW) recently launched Disney Reads, a new social media place for DPW’s broad portfolio of books, magazines, comics, digital apps, and eBooks. A robust calendar for Disney Reads is planned, featuring contests and giveaways, quizzes, and polls, as well as great info on Disney English centers in China and new learning products.
This week, Disney Reads is featuring iconic Small World art and editorial content, fan activities highlighting the Small World book collection, and a demo of the new Small World app. Disney Reads also partnered with Lauren Bush Lauren’s FEED organization to create a sweepstakes with the chance to win the whole Small World collection and FEED’s Small World bag. The sweepstakes and Small World fun facts will be promoted through Twitter.com/DisneyReads.
In the future, Disney Reads will also showcase behind-the-scenes features from author events and offer exclusive downloadable goodies. “Fans will get an in-depth look at their favorite writers and discover more about everything they love to read—books, magazines, digital products, and comics,” Jennifer Levine, vice president, Global Communications, Disney Publishing, says.
Disney authors are not the only talent to be featured on the platform. “Disney Reads gives us the opportunity to introduce fans to our own DPW talent,” Jennifer says. “Over the next few months, we will host behind-the-scenes features with storybook artists, editors, and other cast members with exciting perspectives to share.”
