D23 presented an incredible advance screening of Up in Disney Digital 3D™ at the historic El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood on May 28 — exclusively for D23 members. Adding to the fun was a surprise visit from voice super talent John Ratzenberger, who regaled the full house with laugh-out loud stories that set the perfect mood for a night of fun, friendship and exquisite filmmaking!
The festivities began at 7 p.m. with an exclusive D23 member pin trading event in the theater lobby and the release of eight (8) new pins at the Disney Soda Fountain and Studio Store! At 10 p.m., the El Capitan’s theater doors swung open, and Guests rushed (safely!) to their seats for an exciting pre-show, including a musical program from legendary El Cap organist Rob Richards, the fantastic Disney stage show Lighten Up!, the eagerly awaited Pixar short film Partly Cloudy and then… the main event! — a screening of the amazing Up!
Here is just a selection of the great pictures we took at this event. We hope you had as much fun as we did putting it on! — and thanks to all D23 members who turned out for a special night!
