The Suite Story

03.10.09 - The work of Dorothea Redmond, who very sadly passed away on February 27, 2009, served as inspiration to the Imagineers and artists who have brought to life two of the most grand accommodations in all of Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts — the Cinderella Castle Suite at Walt Disney World and the Disneyland Dream Suite, formerly Walt's own private apartment above the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction at Disneyland. Here we share some of Dorothea's glorious work, about which Disney artist and historian Stacia Martin says: "A Dorothea Redmond watercolor painting is a wonder to behold. The exquisite detail coaxed from this elusive medium combines with a flawless sense of color and light to create not just illustrations, but living environments."
